Windermere 'Wildswim & Walk'*

Meet: Car Park - Wray Castle, Low Wray, Ambleside, LA22 0JA
Join us for a relaxed wild swim and walk where we will share the history of the local area and our love of open water. This is a chance to be with like minded souls and enjoy a fun day in somewhere beautiful. Swims are more like dips and can be anything from 1-20mins depending on your appetite.
You will need:-
*Appropriate footwear/clothing for a trail walk. A good level of basic walking fitness is required to ensure the safety of the group with a distance of approximately 8km to be covered on mainly flat trails.

Rydal / Grasmere 'Wildswim & Walk'
Sunday 14th December, 10-2pm
On this wildswim & walk we will be walking to the Rydal cave then onto Grasmere through some of the most picturesque scenery in the lakes. There will the option to dip in Grasmere and Rydal Water and you'll be sharing the walk and dip with a small group of like-minded dippers.
Plan for the experience lasting 4-5 hours in total. The walk does have elevation and uneven ground.
You will need:-
- Dip kit
 - Swim shoes crucial due to the rocky entry
 - Warm drink / lunch
 - Medication if relevant
 - Walking boots
 - Water proofs
 - Rucksack ( shoulder bags not ideal)
 
Please note that the water temperature will be around 12 degrees so dress appropriately accordingly and note sturdy footwear with ankle support for the uneven trail paths.

Janet's Foss Waterfall 'Wildswim & Walk'
Sunday 11th January, 10-2pm
Join us for a relaxed wild swim and walk where we will share the history of the local area and our love of open water. This is a chance to be with like minded souls and enjoy a fun day in somewhere beautiful.
Janet's Foss is a small waterfall close to Malham. It carries Gordale Beck into a deep pool below. The pool was traditionally used for sheep dipping, an event which drew in local village inhabitants for the social occasion. Janet refers to the fairy queen who is inhabits the cave at the rear of the water fall. We'll be walking to the foss for a sacred dip.
