STANDARD/SPRINT TRI / RELAY / AQUABIKE

Lets get the '26 Season started! Big time!


The BPT & Aquabike is a standard distance tester that offers individuals or relay teams of two-three people the chance to race through charming Cheshire on fast, flat courses. It involves a delicious open water lake swim, a fast 55km draft-legal bike and 10km canter around Cheshire lanes. Half that for sprinters.


EARLY BIRD ENTRY (until 1st June)

Standard Tri: £55 (£65 from 1st June,

Sprint Tri: .£45 (£55 from 1st June)

Standard Tri Relay (2-3 peeps): £75 (£90 from 1st June)  

Aquabike: £40 (£50 from 1st June)

 

Distances:   

Swim (OW); 900m

Bike; 55km (Standard 2 laps, Sprint 1 lap)

Run; 10km (2 laps / 1 lap) - The course is held mainly on (quiet) public roads with few paths.

Aquabike: Swim 900m, Bike 55km


Event Timings:

7.30-8.30am: Registration (at Allostock Village Hall - WA16 9LQ) & Transition Open (at Boundary Water Park)

8.50: Briefing for all competitors (Lakeside)

9.00: Swim Start - ALL COMPETITORS (Tri, Aquabike, Relays) 

Presentations (asap after finishing)


Registration / Car Parking:

Located at Allostock Village Hall (WA16 9LQ) a half-mile from the Boundary venue. If easier, competitors can drop kit boxes / bags off at Boundary Water Park then drive to parking at Village Hall before walking back to the race start at 9am. No parking is permitted on the main roads close to the venue.


Swim Caps / Race numbers:  

Will be provided at registration on the day. Race belts are permitted. Race numbers are also provided at registration. 


Wetsuits Compulsory:

The water expected to be approximately 14-15c so wetsuits will be optional.


Competitor Info:

Ensure that you've got all the necessary clothing, refreshments and nutrition to last for the duration of the event which can take anything from 2.5-4.5 hours to complete. A tried and tested bike, wetsuit and goggles will help considerably.

Aquabikers -  Dismount before crossing the finish line with your bike

Relay Teams -  Wait in transition for your change-overs 


Bikes:

Standard road bikes, mountain bikes, hybrids are welcome. No Time Trial bikes are permitted.


Our event is 'draft-legal' but, for safety reasons, especially since the event is taking place on public roads, we will be referencing British Triathlon rules relating to draft-legal racing.


  • Handlebars (straight/dropped) are permitted but must be plugged; 
  • No aero-bars permitted
  • Clip-ons, including the bridge, must not exceed the foremost line of the brake levers. 
  • Water bottles / holders may not be mounted onto the handlebars or clip-on 


Lights

Its recommended for safety that you use front and rear bike lights although they are not mandatory.
