Competitor Info:

Ensure that you've got all the necessary clothing, refreshments and nutrition to last for the duration of the event which can take anything from 2.5-4.5 hours to complete. A tried and tested bike, wetsuit and goggles will help considerably.

There no motorbike referees out on the bike course so carry a mobile phone is you feel you need the reassurance of being able to contact race organisers whilst out on the course (07871 268 289 Dave Q).

Bikes:

Standard road bikes, mountain bikes, hybrids are welcome.

Our event is 'draft-legal' but, for safety reasons, especially since the event is taking place on public roads, we will be referencing British Triathlon rules relating to draft-legal racing which this is.

For Age-Group draft-legal competitions, the following handlebar rules will apply:

  • Clip-ons are not allowed.
  • Tri-bars are not allowed.

Lights

Although recommended front and rear bike lights are not mandatory but optional

What you said..
"Thanks. Great event again. Please pass my special thanks onto the water safety guys. They really helped me out when I was feeling uncomfortable in the water (and when I got smacked in the head by a buoy!). They did a great job." Sam

"Ah really enjoyed yesterday, thank you! I forgot how cold it is racing open water... in April... in Manchester!! 🙂 Great day though - the addition of hot drinks at the end this year and the (amazing) home-made flapjack were both fantastic!!
Thanks! See you both down the Quays! Linzi
