Do something completely different! Swim in the dark, lit up by night sticks and shining like a star! All abilities welcome aged from 7+ years.


Our 'Neon Swim' is the perfect dip for people wanting to experience night swimming in a magically lit Dock 9, MediaCityUK. The great venue, friendly atmosphere and iconic backdrop offers the perfect recipe for a memorable experience. 


Distances

500m,* 1.5km** 

*Open to competent 7-15 year old's 

** Competent  10-15 year old's


Entry:

500m: £25.00 

500m Jnr (7-15yrs): £10.00

1.5km: £35.00 

1.5km Jnr (10-15yrs): £15.00


Location: Dock 9, Salford Quays, Manchester, M50 3AZ


Timings: Registration opens for all swimmers from 7.30-8.30pm. 


Swim Start times / Courses:

Jnr & Snr 1.5km (3 laps) - 8.45pm

500m (1 lap) - 9.00pm 

Cut off time (all swims) - 10.15pm


Further Info: There will be no posted race packs or swim caps. Event info will be updated on this webpage regularly with swim caps and glowsticks provided on the day.

Whether you are a competitive swimmer or you simply want to experience a totally fun swim at night then this is the event for you! You'll be wearing our event glowstick so you'll be super visible and safe. Note that 'Neon Swim' is a 'participation' event with a big emphasis on fun and non-competitiveness so there will be no trophies awarded or times provided. You're more than welcome, however, to unleash the beast and swim as fast or as slow as you want!   


Young people are invited to take swim in the different distances but must be competent swimmers and experienced in swimming in the open water.


Parking: Quayside adjacent to venue. £1 ph


Facilities: There will be no changing tents and toilets will be available in local outlets. Wetsuit hire available:  £10+£20 cash deposit on day. Pre-book via sales@uswimopenwater.com


Last minute info: Will be provided at the event briefing 10 minutes prior to each wave start. 


What is included in Neon Swim?

  • Glowstick but bring your own UV body decorations or individual lights
  • Event Swim Cap (collected at registration)
  • Medal
  • UV lighting for photographs in the mirror tent!
