The MediaCityUK Swimrun Challenge is coming back to Town! As this new sporting sensation sweeps the Globe participants can now experience the excitement of this unique event in a conveniently central location. No need to travel to ÖTILLÖ in Sweden when you've got the MCUK Swimrun in Salford Quays! 


Distances:

The event will involve completing 1,450m of open water swimming and 7.8km of running. 


Distances: (Swim = S, Run = R) 

 

  • S1, 750m, R1, 3.9km (3 laps of Dock)
  • S2, 500M, R2, 2.6km (2 laps)
  • S3, 250m, R3, 1.3km (1 lap)

 

Entry:

Solo: £30.00

Relays* (up to 3 people): £30.00

*Can include juniors 10-15yrs


Location: Dock 9, Salford Quays, Manchester, M50 3AZ


Timings:  

8.30-9am: Registration open

9.15: Briefing: (Dockside)

9.30 Start: All competitors


Facilities: Bag store.


Equipment / Kit:  

 

  • Swimrun wetsuit OR Tri-Suit OR Swim Costume & Shorts
  • Goggles
  • Pull-buoy / Hand paddles (optional)
  • Swim cap (bring your own)
  • Trainers

 

The run routes take in circuits of Dock 9, Salford Quays with the swims all taking place within the Dock itself. 


How it Works :)

Participants wear all the gear that they will need for the events duration swimming in trainers and wearing their running kit etc (see above list). Water bottles (compulsory) can be left at transition which will be passed regularly during the race.
