Dave Quartermain


As Founder & CEO Dave has a passion for open water swimming that has taken him to New York (to swim around Manhattan Island, first Brit winner), Africa (Robben Island), many of the UK's Lochs / Lakes as well as almost completing the English Channel (300m off, darn!). As one of the UK's top open water swimmers in the late '90's he set up Uswim to provide safely supervised swims to water-lovers and has since then welcomed over 150,000 people - and counting - into the great outdoors. Learning to swim in the canal outside his home in Marple seems a lifetime ago!

Karen Quartermain


A qualified Childrens Nurse Karen also has an unrivalled love and passion for all things outdoors. Since her baptism of fire swimming a marathon Loch Ness Relay she has successfully completed a Jersey to France Solo, Solo Windermere (several times), Ullswater, Coniston and numerous English Channel Relay swims. Not to mention 6 winter swim seasons under her belt and much much more. As an integral part of Uswim Karen leads on guided adventure swims (Uswim Adventure) and coordinates sales / social media as well as bringing her special brand of energy to the Team.

Qualifications

Rachel Seville


As a successful indoor rower Rachel was approached by National level clubs but had to turn them down because she couldn't swim. Determined to face her fear she took lessons and soon grew to love being in water. One of Rachels skills is being able to welcome new members, especially the nervous or apprehensive. In addition, she is also a First Aider.

Achievements include taking gold at the English Indoor Rowing Champs and competing in the Virgin Active London Triathlon. Hobbies include playing bass guitar and recording material for the debut album of her heavy metal band. Awesome!

Iain Seville


An experienced project manager, who has given up the desk to spend more time outdoors Iain is passionate about exercise/fitness and is motivated to encourage and inspire people of all abilities. 


His main passion is competing in triathlons – previously a sprint distance Winner. In recent times concentrating on longer distances, Iain has completed 9 ironman distance events including Ironman UK, Wales and Lanzarote. As well as open water swimming, running and cycling, Iain’s outdoor interests include mountain biking, hill walking, skiing and he previously qualified as a scuba diver.
