GMS is the perfect way to experience open water swimming at its finest. Its held at our iconic MediaCityUK venue - one of the most visited urban swim venues in the UK - which has hosted the 2002 Commonwealth Games and ITU International Salford Triathlons. Join up and experience everything that marvellous MediaCityUK has to offer!
Entry:
500m: £30.00. 1 mile: £40.00. 3 mile: £55.00.
Jnr 500m (7-15yrs): £15.00
Jnr 1 mile (10-15yrs): £20.00

1 & 3 mile: Champ Skin Swimmer (Female/Male) & Champ Wetsuit Swimmer (F/M)

Timings
(tbc closer to event):
- WAVE ONE - 3 mile & 1 Mile BREASTSTROKE; SWIM - 12noon (Briefing; 11.50am)
- W2 - Sub 30 min 1 mile; SWIM - 1.00pm (Briefing; 12.50pm)
- W3 - 30-40min 1 mile & Young People (10-15years) 1 mile; SWIM - 1.20pm (Briefing; 1.10pm)
- W4 - 40-50min & 50+ mins 1 mile; SWIM - 1.40pm (Briefing; 1.20pm)
- W5 - 500m (all swimmers), SWIM - 1.50pm (Briefing; 1.45pm)
- CUT OFF TIME (ALL SWIMMERS) - 3.30pm
Changing / Timing Chip Collection:
Although a changing gazebo is provided endeavour to come to the start as 'swim ready' as possible. Skins' swimmers changing robes etc can be left in the baggage areas. Timing chips are provided at registration.
Baggage:
A small covered area will be provided but please bring as little as possible to minimise congestion.
Swim Courses:
There will be a 'deep water' start for all distances with a 5 minute 'acclimatisation time available in the water prior to each swim.
Swimmers will then swim on anti-clockwise courses:
- 3 Miles - 5 x 1km
- 1 Mile - 1 x 1km & 1 x 500m
- 500m - 1 x 500m
At the end of the swim swimmers will exit up the swim ramp, cross the timing mat and then progress through the finish arch.
500m swimmers:
Note that this a 'participation' swim created to provide a challenge to 'newbies' and inexperienced swimmers. As a result there will be no chip timing or trophies. Medals and a goody will still be provided, however, because you are incredible!
