Why choose Uswim as your swim guides?

We’ve been successfully guiding hundreds of swimmers (solo’s / relays) to fulfil their swim goals since the early 1990’s. All major English Lakes, Scottish Lochs including the English Channel have been guided and we are proud of our track record in ensuring swimmers safely complete their swims.

What you get when you choose Uswim as your guides

The security of knowing that you will be supported by an experienced, enthusiastic team who have completed many swims themselves as swimmers and guides and who can pass on their knowledge (and share your pain!). We fully commit to your swim being a success.

During your swim you will be tracked via GPS so family and friends can follow your progress. A registered escort safety boat is provided with essential safety equipment on-board. Post swim you will be emailed photos of your swim and a swim log. You will also receive a Uswim swim cap and a small trophy to recognise your (considerable) achievement.

Coniston Water in Cumbria, England is the third largest lake in the English Lake District. It is five and a half miles long, half a mile wide and has a maximum depth of 184 feet.

Its been the scene of many attempts to break the world water speed record. On August 19, 1939 Sir Malcolm Campbell set the record at 141.74 miles per hour (228.108 km/h) in Bluebird K4. Between 1956 and 1959 Sir Malcolm's son Donald Campbell set four successive records on the lake in Bluebird K7, a hydroplane.

Dripping with history this is also a fantastic place to swim!

WINDERMERE (10.5miles)

The crown jewel of Lake District swims. A historic swim in relatively warm water that will take, on average, 5 hours plus. This is a beautiful swim but tough swim. You’ll need mental fortitude, determination and previous open water endurance swimming experience will come in handy.

ULLSWATER (7.25miles)

This is another great lake swim and more challenging than Coniston Water because of its length and slightly cooler water temperatures (unless you are wetsuited and booted). Expect a swim of 4 hours plus in truly picturesque surroundings waved on by bemused ferryboat passengers.
