Commemorative swim caps sponsored by the marvellous Morson Group are provided on the day. Wetsuits are available for hire on the day - £10 plus £20 returnable deposit (kids £5 and £5)- advance bookings via

Funky Hat Competition. Look the part! Wear your funkiest, funniest, original creations. Prize for the best dressed.

Briefing is at 10.45am and then we'll be alphabetically organising swimmers into three 'waves' of approx 50 swimmers set ten minutes apart.

  • Wave One (swimmers with surnames A-F) will wade in at 11.00am
  • Wave Two (surnames G-P) swim at 11.10am.
  • Wave Three (R-Z) swim at 11.20am

Don't worry if you have friends / family that you want to swim with simply tell us at registration and we will make sure you are put together. This will help support our expert water safety team in looking after you in the water. Your safety (and enjoyment) are our absolute priority. PLEASE DO NOT CONTACT US ASKING TO BE PUT INTO A PARTICULAR SWIM WAVE AS THIS CAN BE ARRANGED AT REGISTRATION.

All swim entry fees will be going to the Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice – Grace’s Place*  By swimming on the day you'll be putting smiles on lots of faces (including your own!)

*All children are precious, but some need a little more care and attention than othersMore than 650 children are living with life-shortening conditions in North Manchester. As a result, thousands of mums, dads and siblings are also living with those conditions, and the consequences are usually both overwhelming and exhausting.

They all urgently need the support of a specialist children’s hospice. Unfortunately, the vast majority of them haven’t been able to access that support. Until now.

We are Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice, and we’re opening Grace’s Place in Radcliffe

– a fantastic children’s hospice helping families across North Manchester.
